For me, the best country music songs are the ones that bring a smile to my lips when I hear the title. Sometimes it’s because they’re clever, sometimes a bit smartass, and sometimes, in the case of Madelyn Victoria’s new single, “He Only Loves Me on the Dance Floor,” it’s because they make me laugh out loud. Let’s face it – men are beasts. MADELYN VICTORIA podcast excerpt: "'He Only Loves Me On The Dance Floor' started off as just a good idea for a song. But then I actually had a boyfriend and we would go out dancing. We were pretty good dancing together, but we broke up. He really did only love me on the dance floor." Conversation? Sure, sure, we’ll talk later. But most first impressions for us are caused by shapes we’re drawn to and shapeliness. Can you shake it and not break it? Sold! I know how shallow that sounds but for me, that’s the whole point illustrated in “He Only Loves Me on the Dance Floor.” MADELYN VICTORIA podcast excerpt: "I remember getting in trouble in elementary school for singing out loud during even tests. My mind would wander and I would start humming and singing. One day, a teacher took me to my Mom after school and said, 'Oh my goodness, your daughter can sing!'" Oh, and the song has a beat and you can dance to it. Joining me today is the pride of San Benito, Texas, a young woman who was delivered by Dr. Hughston to the sound of country music in the delivery room. Madelyn will be performing two songs live on the show, “He Only Loves Me On The Dance Floor” and “Good At Goodbye.” She is accompanied on guitar by her brother, Albert Vallejo. Don’t miss it!
