In this episode, who and what is the British Athletes Commission? We speak to its chair two time world champion and Paralympic bronze medal rower Victoria Aggar. She reveals the BAC has had to employ more staff to cope with the rising number of athletes reaching out and asking for support, following several high profile abuse and bullying scandals in British sport. And wishes she could've supported Rio 2016 medal winning gymnast Amy Tinkler in her relationship with British Gymnastics, but told us BAC never got to speak to any athletes at that organisation. Since retiring from rowing, Vicki’s also held roles with the British Paralympic Association and now works with the English Institute of Sport. She's also a strong campaigner against drugs in sport, working with the independent Athletics Integrity Unit but recently quit her role at the World Anti Doping Agency. She tells us she remains unconvinced WADA is listening to athletes and doing enough to prevent cheating in sport. This is Great British Bosses from Anything but Footy, the podcast where we profile the men and women responsible for running sport in this country, from grassroots participation to those medal moments at Olympic, Paralympic and elite level.
