Defra has dropped its plans add animal welfare to food labels. Farming and food industry figures say it’s just too complex to do, but others disagree. Good news for short snouted seahorses, the endangered wart biter cricket and the elusive twite. They’re three of the species which will benefit from £7.4 million pounds worth of funding for six new landscape scale Nature Recovery projects. This week we’ve been looking at the role of co-operatives in UK farming. The idea of a co-op is that farmers work together to share risk, cut costs, increase resilience and gain more control over their supply chain. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
