Tail end of a back-to-back, traveling halfway across the country, coming off an emotional loss to their biggest rival, falling down 3-1 in the first and 4-3 in the third. You know where this is going. A 5-4 regulation victory?!?! That’s what we call a character win there, boys and girls.  We over here at BSH Radio have been critical of the character and leadership of this team over the years, so when they deserve commending, I want to make sure we do it.  The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Minnesota Wild, overcoming their own sloppy play, last night’s disappointment and some more shoddy officiating to pick up the W, refusing to allow themselves to let the losses pile up, as they have in the past.  Strong efforts from Claude Giroux (1G, 1A), Sean Couturier (1G, 1A), James van Riemsdyk (2G) and Travis Sanheim (2A), plus bounce back performances following shaky starts by Shayne Gostisbehere (2A) and Ivan Provorov (1G, 30:19 TOI) lead the Flyers to victory.  The orange and black have now picked up 23 of the last 28 points, going 11-2-1 over this 14-game stretch. Listen to the postgame show for some unmatchable analysis and entertainment concerning the hockey team the Flyers, who are still six points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final wild card spot.  Learn more about your ad choices.
