Submit ReviewYou loved the game, surely you'll love the movie, right? Well, for 10-year-old me back in 1993, the answer was simply "Hell no!" Super Mario Bros. diverges wildly from the video game (it looks like an elementary school production of Blade Runner) which is what seemed to anger audiences when it was released. But were we too harsh on the flick? After all, it stars screen legend Dennis Hopper, and was directed by the team that gave us Max Headroom, that was a good show, wasn't it? We decided to re-watch Super Mario Bros. to see how one of the biggest disappointments of our collective childhoods (except for Blain, he loved it when he was a kid for some reason) plays almost 20 years after its release. At the very least it's somewhat notable as the only video game film to predict 9/11.
