We already know that Disney theme parks aren't just for kids, and there are communities of grown-ups who take having fun a Disney Land very seriously! Disney Bounders are all about dressing up as their favorite characters without looking exactly like them, which would be a violation of park rules. To avoid confusing other guests (and getting kicked out of the park), Disney Bounders use regular clothes and household items to evoke the style of princesses, famous animals, and Marvel heroes without crossing that line. Think: Cosplay for the rest of us. And there's a huge community on social media swapping tips and sharing experiences.
Leslie Kay is the creator of Disney Bound, a Tumblr blog and social media presence that grew to define the "Disney Bounding" community. She shares the origins of the site, the extraordinary devotion of the fandom, and the remarkable creativity that goes into dressing for a day at the park. Also: Some amazing stories from Alli's time as a Disney World performer in Orlando.
