In 1947 Tennessee Williams and his lover Pancho stepped into a recording booth at a penny arcade in New Orleans and recorded 8 cardboard discs. Lost in a trunk under a friends bed for some 50 years, The Kitchen Sisters unearth these forgotten Pennyland Recordings and tell the story of Tennessee’s fugitive waves.

"Disc 6A-5. Princess Interview. The speakers are Tennessee Williams and Pancho Rodriquez." Tennessee: "This is Vanilla Williams interviewing Princess Rodriguez who's just arrived here from Monterrey. Princess, what do you have to say about the trade here in this town. Or have you gotten around much yet? " Pancho: "Oh yes, Vanilla. I have gotten around. I've been cruising on Canal Street." Tennessee: Oh honey, get off Canal Street. Miss Canal Street is no good. You should get on Miss Royal or Miss Bourbon. You should get up to the Personality Bar. It's the place for you, girl..."
