Air Date: March 30, 2022 Welcome to Episode 196 of the podcast. Pit building and cooking great barbecue are an obvious match made in heaven, but it isn’t often that you find someone making a business out of doing both. My guest this week is Brent Buschel and with Buschel BBQ and Bush Pig Pits he is doing just that. When he and his wife moved to Canada from Australia they settled in Toronto where Brent went to work at Adamson’s Barbecue, starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to pitmaster. After the restaurant was closed during Covid, Brent and his wife decided to head west and settled in Water Valley, AB where he put his previous trades experience to work building pits. More recently they have started up a bbq catering business with hopes of maybe one day opening up a brick and mortar operation.
