This week on The Best of Car Talk, Fred saw a truck parked in the rain with its door open, so he did what any good guy would do—he closed the door. 30 minutes later, the truck was on fire, and Fred may have caused it. Good intentions also went awry for Mare's husband, he put air in her Celica's tires, but mistook her car for a bicycle and filled them all the way to 90 psi. The parade of bad ideas continues with Richie who may have cooked his engine by experimenting with a synthetic oil dual filtration system; Scott's "Uncle Know It All" who thinks overdrive should be avoided at all costs; Liz, who plans to drive from Oregon to Alaska in an '85 Blazer; and our very own Ray, postulating that William Shakespeare was Italian. All this and more, this week on The Best of Car Talk.
