Twilight Zone: The Movie. Running Time: 50 minutes 36 seconds Star Trek and The Twilight Zone are intrinsically linked by their creative teams. Many Twilight Zone writers and actors later contributed to Star Trek, and many Star Trek personnel went on to create new incarnations of The Twilight Zone. This can be seen in the 1983 film as well. Twilight Zone: The Movie adapted three classic episodes of the original series. All three stories originated from Star Trek writers, George Clayton Johnson, Jerome Bixby, and Richard Matheson. These stories were adapted for the big screen by Matheson. In this episode of Stage Nine, John and Mike begin their "Shocktober" celebration by looking at Twilight Zone: The Movie. We discuss all four segment by directors John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante and George Miller, comparing them to the original episodes.
