 I have one simple question for you today… do you know how to listen to your body, so you can give yourself what you really need in this moment? For many of us, it isn’t a simple answer in response. Whether it's adrenal fatigue, stress, and overwhelm that fogs our ability to make wise choices or something even worse like residual trauma bubbling under the surface, maybe it’s time to get back to the basics, once again.

My special guest today is nervous system specialist Irene Lyon and she’s simplifying how to listen to your body. As a Somatic Experiencing (SE) Practitioner, she helps people work through their anger, depression, and better tap into their life force energy. As she puts it, “when you tune up your nervous system, you rev up your entire life.” This is the secret to becoming your own medicine.

Here’s how. 

My special guest today is Irene Lyon and she’s simplifying how to listen to your body.

We tackle and simplify all aspects of it, including:

  • Why it’s important to focus on regulating your nervous system first and what the warning signs are when something isn’t right inside your body
  • A few exercises to try that will help you better listen to your body and stabilize your nervous system when you’re stressed
  • What “survival stress” is and how there is a better way to approach our challenges in work and in life, instead of burning out.

While this seems like a simple topic to simplify, I quickly realized there’s really so much more to it. Therefore, I’ve broken this conversation up into two parts, so we can marinate over it all for the next two weeks together.
