We've talked about how and why our relationship with our parents is complicated. But as our parents get older, what level of emotional, financial, and logistical support do we owe them in the time they have left?

While the topic of eldercare has always been sensitive, being the child of immigrants brings specific challenges into the equation. Despite having lived in the US for most of their adult lives, our parents continue to struggle with navigating a somewhat still-foreign society, while longing for the familiarity of their motherland societies. Despite not being fully integrated in the US, the fact of the matter is that they've built their lives here. Their immediate family - children and grandchildren - are here to stay. How does this push-pull between two countries and cultures come into play in making big decisions like end-of-life planning and where to be laid to rest?

So where do we go from here? And how do we support our parents? Let us know your thoughts in the comments on our social media.
