When I sat down next to Hani Mourra, on the bus leaving the conference, I thought, “Maybe I’ll take a nap”. This person looked so relaxed, so calm!
Since then, through conversations and this interview on The Immigrant Entrepreneur, I discovered within his calmness, and perhaps a source of his calmness is his confidence – to move through his many ups and downs. Think of it like this, you go up, you go down, but if you were to draw a straight line through those ups and downs, it’s heading up.
Hani’s family were immigrants to Kuwait when it was invaded by Iraq. They then immigrated to the US and then to Canada. He shares what he learned through this journey.
Hani created several successful pieces of software, called WordPress plugins, including Simple Podcast Press and Simple Video Press.
Even though his university degree and training is in software development, he chooses to be a ‘software architect’ as he calls it, to design the program, interact with his customers, and hire the developers to do the coding.
