After an overnight stay at hospital, Shula’s recuperating at home. Susan pays her a visit and apologises for being rude when Shula interrupted her and Neil arguing a few weeks ago. When Susan asks why Shula rang Neil while riding, she’s surprised to learn that Neil had arranged to help Shula with her shed – she knew nothing of these plans and she’s not being seeing much of him lately either. Some of Josh’s hens have Infectious Bronchitis. He admits to David that he hasn’t given all of his flock the full amount of booster vaccines. David is surprised Josh is still cutting corners after his run in with the police. Josh pushes back at his dad saying he’s not the only person to make a mistake, citing Pip’s IBR error and Shula’s ill-fated horseback phone call. David’s relieved to hear that Josh plans to buy in reputable eggs to fulfil his orders, taking a short-term financial hit for long-term gain. Unable to concentrate after running to Shula’s aid yesterday, Neil comes home from work early. He’s eager to know how Shula is when Susan tells him she’s out of hospital. She recounts her visit to Shula and suggests that Neil pops round too. Disappointed when he takes up the suggestion, Susan is left holding the baby. Meanwhile, Shula wants Neil that people are beginning to gossip about the two of them spending time together. Neil interrogates this claim and when Shula admits it’s only really Alistair that’s made remarks Neil dismisses it. He’s determined to help out a life long friend whenever she needs.
